Rings

Do you ever find that you have become so used to doing something that when you don’t do it one day, it completely throws you off??

I usually wear at least two rings on my hands. One is my engagement ring and the other changes but is usually on the middle finger on my right hand.

Today I got into work and started my day and something just didn’t feel right. Like I was off balance. I couldn’t figure it out, and tried to shake the feeling off, but I still didn’t feel right. Halfway into my morning I looked down at my hands typing on the keyboard and voila! I figured it out. I had forgotten to wear the ring on my right hand. How could something so small affect me?

It really irks me that something so little made my brain go, “Hey, something is wrong here.” We become so attached to our routines that sometimes a little change can throw us for a loop. We do what we like, and we mentally attach ourselves to those thoughts and processes.

I need to stop being so reliant on the routine. Maybe one day, wear that ring on my thumb. (It makes me uneasy just thinking about it!) But, it will be worth it. Got to change it up. Even when it is something as insignificant as wearing rings on certain fingers - translate it to other parts of your day. Go for a walk at lunch. Maybe try to surf for a different blog to read rather than all the ones that are in my history. Anything that will help mix up the day.

I think this afternoon I will put some hot chocolate in my coffee instead of creamer. MMmm… Mocha! I’m such a rebel!

Diamond Sun Design

I feel that my photography and my designs go hand in hand and just saying photography doesn't encompass it all... hence Diamond Sun Designs is born. (reborn?) Anyway, more projects and photos to come.

Internalizing

Mini Rant begins... NOW!

How come some people have to voice what is going on inside their brains to the people around them all the time? Things other people DO NOT need to know.

For example:
"I haven't had a pee yet today"

....could be kept inside your head where it belongs. Let your feet do the talking and walk right over to the bathroom, without the people around you now thinking about their own bladders or your bladder, or how they are going to respond with anything other than a acknowledging grin. I am a quiet, more private person, and I don't agree with people voicing every single concern that comes to their heads. Maybe an extrovert needs to voice these thoughts? Any introverts out there know what i'm saying? Would you voice it even if you knew? Because I guess the introvert inside you would stop yourself from complaining. Damn.... I've become one of them!

annnnyway....please - if you have a comment that will contribute to conversation in a positive way, be my guest. Talk to me! If it is a comment like above that doesn't leave room for an appropriate response, internalize it!

Phewf, I feel better.
